Former NYCB soloist stars in annual 'Nutcracker' at Skidmore
SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Saratoga City Ballet Company will present its 16th annual production of “The Nutcracker” Dec. 12 through 14 at Skidmore College Dance Theatre.
This year’s production features new sets, including a magical, growing Christmas tree, beautiful costumes and new choreography. The cast is made up of emerging young dancers from the Saratoga City Ballet Company and School.
In the role of Herr Drosselmeyer is William Otto, a former soloist with the New York City Ballet and a teacher at Saratoga City Ballet School.
Shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday are sold out, but tickets — $10 for adults and $5 for children — are available at the door for an open dress rehearsal at 5:45 this evening in the Skidmore College Dance Theatre.
