SCB Student Accepted To SAB

Saratoga City Ballet student Gabrielle Estep (class of 2013) has been awarded a full scholarship to study at the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet. She will be attending SAB in the fall and will live and study at their facility in Lincoln Center. This summer Gabrielle participated in Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell in Washington, DC as well as SAB's summer course after which she was asked to stay for the year. We are extremely proud of Gabby and wish her all the best in New York City.


SCB Student Awarded Merit Scholarship

Saratoga City Ballet student Carolyn Wheeler was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Bossov Ballet Theater in Maine.  She is attending their boarding program for the school year and performing with their company.  


SCB Students Attend Summer Intensives Across the Country

  • SCB student, Gabrielle Estep, was awarded the Dance Alliance's Summer Dance Scholarship. Gabby attended SAB's Summer Course as well as Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell in Washington, DC. For more infomation on the Dance Alliance, click here.
  • Taylor Grace also attended  SAB's Summer Course in New York City.
  • Victoria Rotchford received a scholarship from the Boson Ballet to attend their summer program.
  • Anna Ralston and Emma Rocco also participated in Boston Ballet's Summer Dance Program.
  • Carolyn Wheeler attended Houston Ballet's Summer Intensive.
  • Emily Chu headed to Connecticut where she attended Nutmeg Ballet's Summer Program.
  • Erin Dooley studied at the New York State Summer School for the Arts (NYSSSA) ballet program.
  • Olivia Phillips attended her first summer program at the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC.
  • SCB students Kaitlin Buckley, Madeleine Bokan, Aquilla Chase, Bronwyn Cummins-Theroux, Margot Hartley and Natalie Pendergast all studied at the Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive with Melinda Roy, Roberto Munoz and other NYCB dancers.


14 Chosen to Participate in NYC Ballet's Summer Season at SPAC

Fourteen SCB students were chosen to participate in the New York City Ballet's summer season at SPAC. Congratulations to Mahogany Akita, Abby Barrett, Madeleine Bokan, Caroline Brady, Erin Dooley, Alison Genevich, Molly Genevich, William Halm, Nicole Marco, Erin Miller, Natalie Pendergast, Olivia Phillips, Rebbecca Tibbatts, and Elizabeth Usack. They will be learning children's roles from Balanchine's Firebird and Coppelia and getting a taste of life backstage with NYCB. Congratulations!


Farewell Performances

Our two seniors, Haleigh Buckley and Victoria Rotchford '09, gave their farewell performances this year with the Saratoga City Ballet Company. Haleigh will be attending Quinnipiac Univeristy and plans to continue dancing. Victoria is going to Boston Ballet's Summer Dance Program where she was awarded a scholarship. She will be attending Boston University in the fall. Congratulations, girls! We are proud of you and will miss you so much.


Christy Williams '05

Christy Williams graduated from Boston Conservatory with a degree in Dance. She performed professionally in "Urban Nutcracker" and was chosen to a present a full concert of choreography at the end of the year. She is living in Boston over the summer and plans to audition for companies around the country and overseas.


Laura Piwinski '05

Laura Piwinski graduated from Cornell University earning double BA in Economics and Dance and a minor in International Relations. She was in Impact Dance Troupe and the Cornell Student Choreographers club. Laura will be interning this summer at the American Dance Festival. She plans to pursue a master's degree in Arts Administration/ Arts Management.


Amy Auciello '05

Amy Auciello '05, graduated with a BA in dance from SUNY Brockport. She has studied with Doug Varone & Dancers, Battleworks, David Dorfman & Dancers, and Garth Fagan in the past and present. She plans to earn her masters in nutrition.


Shaina Hutson '04

Shaina Hutson '04, is still teaching and choreographing for the Greenville Civic Ballet in Greenville, NC as well as performing with their company, "The Dance Collective" for which she is also a rehearsal director.
