Children's Division Performance
Each spring, students from Saratoga City Ballet's Children's Division presents a demonstration performance. Each class in Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet and Ballet I Int/Adv presents a short piece highlighting what they have learned. The performance is meant to introduce children to performing in front of an audience in a low-pressure setting. Dancers from the Saratoga City Ballet Company also perform and help our littlest dancers through the rehearsal and performance. This is a great opportunity for the youngest students to interact with our oldest and for the parents to see what their children can aspire to.
The performance takes place at Lake Avenue Elementary School's auditorium on the last Saturday of our school year. There is a mandatory dress rehearsal the day before, also at Lake Avenue.
Children wear their class uniform and are given simple costume pieces to wear for their piece.
The participation fee is $10 per child to help defray the costs of the auditorium rental. Tickets are sold before the show starting in April and can be picked up at dress rehearsal. Tickets may also be purchased at dress rehearsal or on the day of the show but we highly recommend pre-ordering tickets to make sure the performance and rehearsal stay on time.
Families in our Children's Division will be given information about the show, tickets and other details sometime in February. All postings regarding this show will be denoted as "Children's Show". Please do not confuse this show with the company performance which shares the same theme every year.
We look forward to showing what our youngest dancers have accomplished this year!
