Arts In Education Our workshops and Lecture-Demonstrations are designed to introduce young audiences to the world of ballet and music. Students are engaged in the imaginative world of dance where they interpret meaning through non-verbal communication. Ballet training instills self-confidence, discipline, creativity and teamwork. Students leave our workshops with new tools to create and learn. These workshops provide a safe environment so students feel at ease to explore movement fundamentals at their own pace. Our company is unique because your students have the opportunity to enjoy this art form through the expression and creativity of their peers. It is our belief that nurturing the development of future dancers and audience members for the generations to come is an invaluable investment. Please take a moment to review our curriculum. Our programs can be constructed to accommodate your requirements. Residency programs are available for educators who desire their students to have a concentrated experience. The Saratoga City Ballet Company is currently on the BOCES presenters list.

Ballet Workshops These workshops can be customized for any age level and are designed to introducestudents to the fundamentals of ballet technique, movement and classical music. Students explore aspects of space, time, energy, and level as it relates to ballet technique. Exercises explored in these activities are designed to enhance the student’s appreciation and knowledge of ballet as well as to encourage students to take risks and explore new ways to communicate, create and work together. |
Lecture Demonstrations A sample ballet class introduces the fundamentals of ballet technique, history and classical music. Volunteers from the audience are asked to join our dancers on stage to try some steps out for themselves. SCB then presents excerpts from various ballets such as The Nutcracker or Cinderella. The dancers perform in beautiful traditional costumes to the music of classical composers. In our Nutcrakcer demonstration the dancers and audience journey to the magical Land of the Sweets. This holiday tradition is a wonderful way to introduce young people to the world of ballet. We also have a story ballet presentation for the spring season as well as a repertoire series that might be compatible with your syllabus. This is a unique way to bring classical literature to life.
