The Saratoga City Ballet Company was founded in 1994, by Patti Pugh Moore, to support the development and presentation of dance for the enjoyment and cultural enrichment of audiences of all ages. Ms. Moore directed the company from 1988 to 2003 and cultivated it from a small group of dedicated dancers to the thriving student company that it is today. The main goal of the company is to offer our ballet students professional performance opportunities. Auditions are open to any intermediate to advanced level dancers, females having pointe experience. Children's roles in our productions are reserved for students of the Saratoga City Ballet School by audition. SCB strives for a high level of artistic achievement and to inspire and promote developing young dancers. The company strives to present professional quality productions and provide its dancers with real performing experience. 2007 marked the company's 15th annual Nutcracker production, which has become a local favorite. The company has also mounted ballets and ballet excerpts such as Giselle, Les Sylphides, Coppelia, and Cinderella. The Saratoga City Ballet performs locally at Skidmore College Dance Theater as well as other venues around the capital region. They have appeared at area events and local organizations including:
